Rain on the Window — Dmitrii_K

Текст песни

October beads on the bus-stop glass
Your last train left, but the hours pass
Wet leaves cling to my worn-out shoes
I keep your old note I was meant to lose
The wind cuts through my coat at the seam
And carries your name past the laundromat steam
I tell myself that the ache will bend
Then rain starts tapping the street again

Rain on the window, wind at the door
I don't know what I'm waiting for
Leaves turn to rust and the afternoons fade
I miss the quiet we never made
Rain on the window, cold in my hands
I watch the season undo our plans

Your coffee cup still has a chipped blue rim
The kitchen goes quiet when daylight dims
I take the long way beside the canal
Where the bare trees lean like they understand
My phone stays dark; I still check it twice
Like one small message could make things right
But the clouds roll low over town once more
And the wind keeps pushing rain under the door

Rain on the window, wind at the door
I don't know what I'm waiting for
Leaves turn to rust and the afternoons fade
I miss the quiet we never made
Rain on the window, cold in my hands
I watch the season undo our plans

Maybe by winter I'll sleep through the storm
Maybe this room won't remember your form
Tonight every gust finds the crack in the frame
And every wet street looks almost the same

Rain on the window, wind at the door
I don't know what I'm waiting for
Leaves turn to rust and the afternoons fade
I miss the quiet we never made
Rain on the window, cold in my hands
I watch the season undo our plans

October beads on the bus-stop glass
The rain keeps falling; the hours pass
